Press Coverage: Once Upon a Time in Almeria

My exhibit of photographs ‘Once Upon a Time in Almeria‘ is open at the Spanish Embassy in Washington, DC, through November 16.  We’ve had some great press coverage of the exhibit so far, especially in Spain. I did an interview with the EFE news agency which appeared in several papers, WAMU gave a shout out via Art Beat, and La Voz de Almeria devoted a full page to the opening. Look for more coverage forthcoming from WAMU and other outlets.  Upcoming events include: Thursday, October 18, 6:30-9:00PM: Film Program and discussion on landscapes of the spaghetti western Wednesday, November 14, 6:30-8:30PM: […]

Journalist Lavanya Ramanathan provides an engaging look at what drives these three photographers and also includes some expert advice on how to take better pictures. The Post gave lots of space to showcase selected images, including my panoramic shot of the old Flagstone set from Sergio Leone’s Once Upon a Time in the West. The article is accompanied by a guide to March photography events in DC — it’s a busy month, including friday March 18 openings […]

Interview in La Voz de Almeria

Spanish journalist Federico Utrera conducted this interview with me by email about my photography and relation to Spain. Utrera is based in Madrid but is originally from Almeria. I first met him last year when he was writing about my uncle Federico Castellon. I was flattered that he took the time to review my portfolio in detail and propose some thoughtful questions. The article appeared in the La Voz de Almeria print edition just before the holidays. The portrait photo is by Stirling Elmendorf. Click on the image below to see the full size article.
