Landscapes de un Sueño
During the 1960s and 1970s, the desert around Tabernas in Almeria, Spain, was used as a backdrop for numerous films, including Sergio Leone’s early spaghetti westerns starring Clint Eastwood. The old sets have been preserved in the dry climate, some left largely untouched and others fixed up and repainted as tourist destinations. They were constructed not to faithfully document their subject, but to represent an ideal of what the American West was perceived to be. -
